Ingredients

1 medium lemon
1 medium orange
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
1 bottle (750-ml.) dry red wine
1 to 2 cups club soda, chilled
2 tablespoons brandy
2 tablespoons Triple Sec®

Directions

Cut lemon and orange into 1/4-in. thick slices. Place the four end slices from the lemon and orange in a small saucepan; set aside remaining fruit slices. Add sugar and water to the saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat; allow to cool. Squeeze any juice from the cooked fruit into the syrup. Discard cooked fruit.
In a 4-quart pitcher, combine syrup, wine, club soda, brandy, Triple Sec® and remaining fruit slices. Serve over ice.
Microwave Directions: Cut fruit as directed above. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine end slices of fruit, sugar and water. Microwave, uncovered, on high for 2-3 minutes or until sugar is dissolved; stirring once. Allow to cool. Continue as directed above. Yield: 12 servings.
