These unique cookies have been a part of our holiday tradition for as long as I can remember. My mother made them when I was little, and now I often bake a batch for my own family.Mindy Young, Hanover, Pennsylvania

I just didn't care for them, they seem so rich and to me the flavors don't quite go together. Guess I was thinking of The Cheesecake Factory's Red Velvet cheesecake and they don't come anywhere near that!

The cookies tasted good and I loved the chocolate chips inside- nice touch! My issue was with the shape. The dough was quite think and sticky so the cookies stayed as blobs after baking. I tried smoothing it down before baking, but the stickiness wouldn't allow for it. Friends loved the taste but they agreed the visual appeal could've been better. Maybe it was me, I don't know.

I thought this recipe was a keeper - I did like someone else and just added the sprinkles instead of cookie crumbs - I also packed them lightly with wax paper in between - it doesn't seem to be a problem - also my neighbor asked for the recipe

I just finished making 10 dozen of these for a cookie exchange tomorrow with nine women. My husband and I along with 2 neighbors think they are delicious. I will make more next week so I have some on hand for company over the holidays. They also look nice on a cookie platter because of the pink and white (frosting) colors.

These are so good! I made the cookies larger than they should have been, but they still turned out great! The frosting is very good, just make sure the cookies have cooled completely before you frost them.

This is unusual but delicious cookie recipe. All of those red velvet lovers will need to try this recipe. I did not crush 8 cookies but two and that was enough to garnish the tops. The chocolate chips really gave a nice surprise taste treat to these soft cake like cookie. The frosting is rich and decadent- I really like the flavor combination- thanks taste of home
