Quick Peach Cobbler Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 2 cans (15-1/4 ounces each) sliced peaches, undrained
  • 1 cup self-rising flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • Ice cream, optional

Directions

  • Pour butter into a 13-in. x 9-in. baking dish. Pour peaches with juice over butter. In a bowl, combine flour and sugar. Add milk and beat until smooth. Pour batter evenly over peaches. Sprinkle with nutmeg. Bake at 375° for 40 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm with ice cream if desired. Yield: 10-12 servings.

Editor's Note: As a substitute for 1 cup of self-rising flour, place 1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder and 1/2 teaspoon salt in a measuring cup. Add all-purpose flour to measure 1 cup.

I have and will continue to make this peach cobbler recipe forever. I mix it up and pop it in the oven, while family and friends are eating supper. The nutmeg makes the house smell wonderful and it is ready to eat by the time, we are done eating our meal. It uses canned peaches and makes it easy to prepare in the winter, when fresh peaches are not in season for me, here in Ohio

I've made this recipe a few times, it's quick and delishous.....family loves it

Delicious and easy! I made it in two 8X8 (2 qt.) dishes and put about a cup of batter over each. As it cools the juices settle into the cake and thicken a bit.
