Pretzel Dessert Recipe
  • Prep: 20 min. + chilling
  • Yield: 16 Servings

Ingredients

  • 2 cups crushed pretzels
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup butter, cubed
  • 2 envelopes whipped topping mix (Dream Whip)
  • 1 cup cold 2% milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 1 can (21 ounces) cherry pie filling

Directions

  • In a large bowl, combine the pretzels, sugar and butter; set aside 1/2 cup for topping. Press the remaining mixture into an ungreased 13-in. x 9-in. dish.
  • In a large bowl, beat the whipped topping mix, milk and vanilla on high speed for 4 minutes or until soft peaks form. Add cream cheese and confectioners' sugar; beat until smooth.
  • Spread half over crust. Top with pie filling and remaining cream cheese mixture. Sprinkle with reserved pretzel mixture. Refrigerate overnight. Yield: 16 servings.

My Grandmother made this for me Christmas 2000, I have made it for my Family every year. When she passed I Received Her Copy of 2002 Taste of home, Annual Recipe book! That Book is my Cooking Bible, An being an Army Wife of 10years,I have cooked almost every thing out of it, an never once, have i had an unhappy camper!! :)

This is so easy to prepare. I really love the pretzel crust. Never had any one say they did not like it, big hit with kids,potluck or holiday. Highly recommend!

I took this to a church potluck dinner and it was the hit of the dessert table! It was easy to make, but looked like I went to a lot of trouble. Many people (guys & gals!) wanted the recipe. It is definitely a keeper with my bunch!
