- I have a Nesco and I wouldn t recommend deep frying in it The heating coils are around the sides of the Nesco and it might not reach the temperature which you require I think if Nesco wanted you to deep fry in it they would have mentioned it in their instruction books P S I love my Nesco sHeidi

Deep fry in Nesco?
- I have the small 4 quart Nesco and wonder if I can deep fry in it The thermometer goes to 400 and I would be deop frying at 365 degrees but since it wouldn t be covered and the heat coils in a Nesco are on the sides I am wondering if the oil would retain it s heat

- Hi DO IT OUTSIDE otherwise you ll have grease throughout the house deep frying causes grease to be aerosolized get into the air and you ll have way too much cleaning to do Also read the directions very carefully especially if you aren t familiar with deep frying I usually don t deep fry at home

- Back in the late 50s and early 60s they made all metal slow cooker deep fryers Remember them well they were fantastic except they had no insert you could take out and clean and the cords were not detachable You could probably use your Nesco but to be onthe safe side I would give the company a call

- I don t like to deep fry and with this recipe I shallow fried the chicken I poured about 1 2 3 4 of an inch of oil in a deep skillet There is much less splattering and you just need to flip the chicken over to brown the other side They got nice and brown and crispy this way
