I found this recipe about 5 years ago and have been making it for family gatherings ever since. The coffee-flavored frosting complements the moist banana cake.

Everytime I have brown bananas on my counter, this is my go-to recipe. My husband used to make the banana bread in the house from an old Joy of Cooking book, but mine 'takes the cake'. I make exactly as written. It is supurb.

Delicious but does not rise unless I buy a new box of soda every time, and has a heavy doughy bottom. Followed recipe exactly, not my oven because everything else I bake in it turns out perfect. What am I doing wrong? Does it need baking powder also? Hope someone can help me.

Made this for a friend's birthday at work. It was a hit with lots of requests for the recipe.

If you need something to do with those bananas that are just to ripe to eat, make this cake. It will be enjoyed by all!!

This cake was so delicious I will definitely make it again. My coworkers loved it. I changed the frosting to a plain cream cheese frosting and it worked wonderful.

this cake is absolutely delicious-moist(although it didn't last very long). The coffee flavored frosting was the best. I have made this again & again & have given this recipe to others. I used expresso powder & did not dissolve before adding to powdered sugar. Nice kick.Would not have thought of combining the two flavors, but wow did it taste good. Thanks

The cake was good. I think it could have used a pinch of salt. I would make this again.
