Poached Corn Recipe
  • Prep/Total Time: 20 min.

Ingredients

  • 5 cups fresh or frozen corn
  • 2 cups milk
  • 4 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper

Directions

  • In a large saucepan, combine all ingredients. Cook over low heat for 10-12 minutes or until corn is tender, stirring frequently. Serve with a slotted spoon. Yield: 6 servings.

Nutritional Facts 1 serving (3/4 cup) equals 188 calories, 6 g fat (3 g saturated fat), 16 mg cholesterol, 373 mg sodium, 31 g carbohydrate, 4 g fiber, 7 g protein.

My family loves corn but found this recipe rather bland.

Quick, easy and very tasty. Since it is off-season for fresh corn, I used frozen and it turned out great.
