These are incredible! We put some chocolate frosting on some of them, but they were great without. I did put them in the fridge and my family enjoyed them cold as well.

Just made these for Valentine's Day using red velvet cake mix and white chocolate chips in the filling. Yummy

Do these need to be kept in a cooler? I am concerned about the cream cheese being left out in the heat.

My family can't get enough of them! I have even used different cake mixes and they have all been great. My nephew always wants me to make a lot of them.

So easy! Great for a hot day when you don't want to fuss with frosting. Used lemon cake mix. YUM! If you don't want the bottom to stick to the paper, use foil cups instead!

Great easy treat. Used Devils's food cake and white & dark chocolate chips...yummy

Wow what a treat! I used white chocolate chips and Heath bar crunch rather than the chocolate chips, as I don't care for chocolate. but I think you could sub any type of chip. My family cannot wait for me to make them again!

I have gotten so many compliments on how great these are! I learned that its better to fill the cupcake liners with less cake batter before adding the cream cheese mixture then the cupcakes dont bake over.

I was lazy and actually made this in a 13x9 cake pan. I lined the bottom with parchment and I am so glad I did. When I turned the cake out and peeled off the paper it was beautiful with the chips peeking through the cake. I let it cool, cut it in squares and stored them in a tupperware container. The pieces went easily into plastic sandwich bags and off with the lunches they went! No mess! No fork! No problem! God Bless

We liked these - they travel well. My only complaint was ALL the chocolate ends up in the bottom, and stuck to either the wrapper or the muffin tin. Some whole chips were left behind.

Nothing but compliments from the friends that I have shared them with. I used Baker's semi sweet Chocolate Chunks with chocolate cake mix. Yum!

I made these with dark chocolate cake mix with peanut butter chips and white chocolate chips. I took them camping and everyone raved about them! The filling did not sink to the bottom as shown in the picture, but they were still excellent with the filling on the top and in the middle.

Made with yellow cake mix for Father's Day picnic and they were a huge success. Made with chocolate cake mix for neighborhood 4th of July party and everyone was asking for the recipe. These are delicious and I didn't feel they needed to be refrigerated. My nephew said "I think these may be my #1 choice of desserts!" Before it was Paula Deene's chocolate triffle.

Wow, this was easy to make. I also frosted the tops of the cupcake. This was so moist and a wonderful taste. My husband said this is a keeper for my recipe box.

So easy to make and easy to toss in a lunchbox or for a picnic. Super moist and some of us don't like frosting so it's a great alternative.

i am sick of seeing these "recipes" which are merely boxed mixes with minor tweaks. some from-scratch recipes would be great, taste of home. otherwise you're just offering suggestions to purchase boxed mixes.

I didn't put in frig and they were fine. That was one reason I made. Took on a picnic and they was fine. I used milk chocolate in some and butterscotch and also white chocolate. They were very good and moist and didn't bring any back with me.

The only stupid question is the one that is unasked! :) I would like to know also if they have to be refrigerated.
Reviewed on Jan. 15, 2010 by schlma29
This might be a really stupid question, but do you have to refrigerate them after baking because of the cream cheese filling?
