Smoked bacon adds zest to this bean bake, a recipe I got from my mother. I must confess that lima beans have never been among my favorite foods. But I actually like them in this casserole, and their color brightens up the mixture. -Jill Evely, Wilmore, Kentucky

Another additive make this recipe a great meal. Add 1 # cooked & drained ground beef . Also for a change, sub 1 15 oz can of green beans drained for 1 can of pork & beans. Pot luck favorite!Karen

I have been making these beans for years,only difference is I add 1 tsp of mustard. they are delicious and I have never found anyone that didn't like then
