Peanut Butter Snowballs Recipe

Peanut Butter Snowballs Recipe Peanut Butter Snowballs Recipe photo by Taste of Home Rating 5

These creamy treats are a nice change from the typical milk chocolate and peanut butter combination. This recipe is also an easy one for children to help with. I prepare them for a bake sale at my granddaughter's school and put them in gift boxes I share with neighbors at Christmas. -Wanda Regula, Birmingham, Michigan

Peanut Butter Snowballs Recipe
  • Prep: 15 min. + chilling
  • Yield: 24 Servings
15 15

Ingredients

  • 1 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 3 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 1 pound white candy coating, coarsely chopped

Directions

  • In a bowl, combine the sugar, peanut butter and butter. Shape into 1-in. balls and place on waxed paper-lined baking sheet. Chill for 30 minutes or until firm.
  • Meanwhile, melt the candy coating in a microwave-safe bowl. Dip balls and place on waxed paper to harden. Yield: 2 dozen.

Editor's Note: Dark, white or milk chocolate confectionery coating is found in the baking section of most grocery stores. It is sometime labeled "almond bark" or "candy coating" and is often sold in bulk packages (1 to 1-1/2 pounds). It is the product used for dipping chocolate. A substitute for 6 ounces chocolate coating would be 1 cup (6 ounces) semisweet, dark or white chocolate chips and 1 tablespoon shortening melted together.

I made this the first time it came out in TOH magazine and been making it ever since. It is one of my kids and grandkids favorite with either white or chocolate coating. It is very easy to make. I would give it more stars if I could!! LOL

Made them for a Christmas goodie tin. I changed the white candy coating to a milk chocolate coating and they were a great big hit. Will make them again.

I tripled this recipe last Christmas and put them out for family to nibble on...every last one was eaten and my nephew told me to forget the present this year and just make a big batch of these for him.

I have been making these since the first time I saw them in TOH. Now all my friends and neighbors can't wait for the holidays to receive them.

I made these the first time I saw the recipe in TOH and now I make them for all kinds of holidays. Depending on the holiday, I put different colored sprinkles on them right after dipping them; before the white candy coating firms up. They are wonderful and easy to make!

I usually make a quadruple batch because they are so popular with my family and friends
