"My husband has fond memories of this recipe," pens Lorrie McCurdy of Farmington, New Mexico. "Every Sunday morning, his dad would get up early to make the family pancakes and syrup. They didn't have much money, but the kids never knew that. What they do remember is that their dad always had time to make their Sundays extra special."

so easy and good. I didn't have maple extract, so used vanilla... still very good. I may never buy store bought again :D

Simple and easy and any extract can be added! Pure no alcohol vanilla extract is what I used and worked great!

I usedd this recipe for years for my family also. It was lovely to see it here. I alternated with Sugar Twin brown and white sugar when I was dieting. My children didn't realize the difference. I usually used a little regular sugar to help with the consistency They loved the hot homemade syrup!
