I made this in my 6 quart crock pot (only one I have) I used Craisins in place of cherries and Original unsweetened Almond Milk (not vanilla) I set it for "LOW" /8 hrs. It burned!!! My Crock Pot was used recently to make a potroast/all OK. Should I try the oatmeal again and cut down the cooking time to maybe 6 hrs. ?? I was so dissapointed. I did use steel cut oatmeal.

Good stuff - but I think mine cooked a bit too long as it took on a slight curdled taste. I used a timer and cooked it for 7 hours; next time I will try 6.5. A bit sweet; I will omit the brown sugar next time too. The steel cut oats hold up well in the crockpot overnight as opposed to old-fashioned oats. Will definitely try this again!

Too Sweet..... Oatmeal looked very brownish... Family squirmish about eating it.

I had never tried Steel-cut oats before but I'm now a fan. Also, I made this healthier by using unsweetened almond milk and no salt. It's delicious without any extra milk. Thanks for sharing it!

I will make it again, but with no brown sugar nor cinnamon, and I'll use non-fat dried milk and water to equal one quart if I don't have almond vanilla. Loved the cherries and the steel-cut oats. Too sweet though, for our tastes.

My Family Loved this and I loved how easy it was. I think I might try cutting back on the brown sugar to 1/ 4 c or less and then try using the Vanilla almond milk that is unsweetend. The cherries added are delightful!!
