Old-Fashioned Green Beans Recipe Old-Fashioned Green Beans Recipe photo by Taste of Home Rating 5

Mom would prepare home-grown green beans using this recipe, and boy did they ever taste good. The bacon provides rich flavor and the brown sugar a touch of sweetness. This is one irresistible side dish. -Willa Govoro, St. Clair, Missouri

Super easy and delicious. After reading the reviews, I also doubled the water and brown sugar. Yummy!

absolutely -- and a great way to serve it -- crockpot after the initial cooking on low!! I doubled the brown sugar and water and left it with the beans.
