These healthful, good-tasting waffles are a tried-and-true family favoriteeven with our two children. My husband and I have a small herd of beef cattle and some pigs. A hearty breakfast really gets us going!

Rated as good as our standard Sunday waffles from Joy of Cooking. I used our (also standard) modifications: 1/3 of the flour was whole wheat and half the milk was substituted with yoghurt, in this case Ban-illa. These did stick more than our usual recipe, so I used an oil brush lightly on waffles 2-6

Went to make this recipe the other day, only to find that my daughter had thrown out the rest of my quick-cooking oats. So I gave the following a try, and it turned out fantastic...In place of the quick-cooking oats, cinnamon and brown sugar, I used 2 packets of instant maple and brown sugar oatmeal. My kids want to know when I'm making this again. SO GOOD!

This was fantastic! I subbed ground flax/water for the egg, due to an egg allergy in the family and the waffles were a wonderful texture. I also added vanilla (1 teaspoon per recipe). The flavor was good and the texture was just right--adding this to my collection, for sure!!

I made just the waffles, not the topping, and they turned out really well. They were very filling. I used 1 c. of unbleached white flour and 1/2 c. whole wheat flour. I also added 2 tsp. of vanilla.

This was a great way to get more oatmeal into our diet. My husband doesn't care for oatmeal as cereal and this is better for our waistlines than oatmeal cookies. I want to try it next time with whipped egg whites.

Tasty and filling! :) I veganized the recipe, using soymilk, Earth Balance margarine, and mashed banana instead of egg. We used 1/3 whole wheat flou and, 2/3 all-purpose flour, and served the waffles with maple syrup, blackberries, and blueberries.

These were very good. I used Baked Apple Oatmeal packets instead of plain oatmeal, which gave them a little bit of apple cinnamon flavor.

I made these a couple of weeks ago and they made a really nice change from ordinary waffles and pancakes. Both my daughters asked for these again.

Really filling and very tasty! I added one diced apple to give a little bit more flavour. I also substituted rolled oats for quick-cooking and they were just as moist.

These are a great breakfast! I will make them again for sure. I am so sweet that I put an extra 1/4 cup sugar and 2 and 1/2 tsp of bakeing powder instead os 3.

I made these for my sons today and they really loved them. I added 1 small cooking apple(diced) to the batter and the waffles were a hit. Will be making these on a weekly basis!
