THIS is CRAZY good!! Had home-grown apples and doubled recipe to use full box of cake mix. Apples used were honey-crisp and next time I would omit water, just didn't need it and made a bit too much moisture in bottom. My husband just raved and raved, asked if we could make them up and freeze them so we could have them all winter!

I did as Mom72350...doubled the recipe and used 10 apples. I did however use only 1 cup of sugar. Everyone loved it. Definitely a keeper.

This has become my new favorite apple crisp recipe. It lasted less than a day in my house and I love the crunchy topping. I too use an 18oz cake mix and use half. Tastes sooo..... good warm with vanilla ice cream. To die for! Will make again and again! I used Gala and Empire apples togetrher.

Add 3/4 cup chopped pecans to this and NO WHITE SUGAR. The cake mix is sweet enough. The pecans will make it crunchy and it taste so good. I make this all of the time.

I always add chopped pecans to my Apple Crisp Recipe at home. The pecans give it that extra crunch. So, I added it to this recipe too!
