A package of yellow cake mix sets this tasty crisp apart from others. Serve it a la mode for an extra special treat. —Ruby Hodge, Richland Center, Wisconsin

I have made this recipe a lot and it is really easy and very good. I cut down on the sugar because it is very sweet.

I have made this three times this month. It's very sweet and a little unusual, but delicious.

The best apple crisp I have ever had! Will be making for Thanksgiving. Only changes: cut sugar in half and I buttered the pan.

A new favorite at our house!

This is good recipe but needs some adjustments. I used only half the cupmof sugar, but it was still too sweet. The topping is very sweet itself, so probably skipping sugar in apple part would be a good idea. Next time I'm going to increase the amount of apples or use less of the cake mix in the topping. Overall this recipe is worth to try but use less sugarvand more apples.

I totally recommend this recipe, to me it's the perfect apple crisp! I've baked it twice now using a Jiffy yellow cake mix & a 7" X 11" pan & it turned out great! I found with Granny Smith apples that 3/4 cup sugar is good. I'm going to make double batch today, using a vanilla cake mix because that's what I have on hand & I plan to freeze it.

We really enjoyed this recipe! Took reviewers advise regarding the sugar, and I 'm glad I did, otherwise it would have been inedible in my opinion.. Here are the changes I made for a 9x13 dish.. I used 10 gala apples cut medium thickness. I don't like think sliced apples, I want to taste my apples! 3/4 cup white sugar. I think next time I will omit completely. 1/4 cup of water. Regular size Betty Crocker yellow cake mix which was about 15oz, 2 cups of oats, 1/4 cup brown sugar x 2, and 2 sticks of butter. Everyone loved it. I will make it again for Thanksgiving!
