Has anyone tried to make this in a crock pot?

Reviewed on Apr. 14, 2013 by kiwikrs

I thought this had too strong of a blue cheese flavor and not enough of a chicken wing flavor. IF I make it again, I would cut the blue cheese dressing amount in half, double the wing sauce and add 4 oz more cream cheese.

Basically a good recipe but way to much sauce. Also I would use a cheddar cheese.

don't know yet haven't tried it

You would not be allowed inside the city limits of Buffalo if you had a bottle of ranch dressing. lol I just added more hot sauce and can't wait to make it again.

This dip didn't do much for me. I would much rather prefer to make the Buffalo Chicken Dip that's on TOH. I like the ranch flavor of it versus the blue cheese flavor.

Some friends brought this over one night and I was shocked that I liked it because I don't really care that much for blue cheese, but it sure was yummy. When I make it I might do half ranch and half blue cheese. If my husband has a say in it, I'll use the whole cup of blue cheese. Thanks for the recipe.

just didn't do anything for me

My husband asked me to make chicken wing dip for his poker party. I lost my old recipe so I went to Taste of Home. I love the fact that I can find a recipe for anything that I need and it is always delicious. The guys at the poker party devoured this dip. Very good. Will definitely make again. I did add a little extra wing sauce to make it hotter.

This is a great recipe, lots of ingredients and lots of flavor. If you like anything buffalo style, you will love this dip. I like to serve it with french bread. Once you take it out of the oven, the dip might seem a little "thin", let the dip set for at least 15 minutes and it will thicken up.

I always get asked to make this for any gathering I go to. I love the flavor! I always end up adding more hot sauce to make it more spicy. I haven't tried the substitution for ranch before. So so yummy! Huge hit with any crowd!

I have been making this since it appeared in your magazine. Everyone loves it! I make no changes to it, it's perfect the way it is.

Absolutely in love with this recipe. I swap out the blue cheese with ranch or do half and half depending on the crowd, then I use Mozz vs provolone depending on what the store carries. I've made this for a number of cookouts, parties and events and it's always GONE! Plus everyone always asks for the recipe. I tend to make in crock pot vs. stove. Thanks TOH!

I originally made this recipe for a superbowl party; since then my husband has requested it for parties at work and tomorrow I'll take it to a family barbeque. I highly recommend this recipe for any gathering - people can't get enough and I always have to photocopy the recipe.

This has become a camping staple. Just make it in a disposable metal pan and heat on stove or fire. It is a huge hit!

I made this for a get together with the inlaws. They loved it. I get asked to bring it all the time.

I have used the ranch dressing insteadof the blue cheese and it is really good

I think ranch dressing would be good as a replacement for blue cheese dressing

I had a similar dip at a new year's eve party, and it was delicious! The ingredients were the same, except for this one had fresh blue cheese crumbles added to it.

My Family just loved this dip! So yummy. Great snack, great meal... it'll all good :)

What a great idea. I hate picking at bones during a party. This gives you all the great taste of great wings but so much easier to handle.

I USE RANCH DRESSING INSTEAD OF THE BLUCHEESE AND IT IS WONDERFUL!

Reviewed on May. 14, 2009 by amethystra

I used canned chicken for this recipe and washed the chicken to get rid of any chemical taste. Thus far, I've brought this to two potlucks and it's gone over extremely well. :)

A friend in another city emailed me this recipe and thought I would like it for my next party. I made this for a jewelry party Since another friend and I were hosting a jewelry party, I decided to make it. She and I do not like Blue Cheese Dressing, so I used Ranch dressing, which is what we put on chicken wings in Texas anyway. I also used Mozzarella cheese, because I could find it pre-shredded. This was so good, everyone was asking for the recipe. I will definitely have it at future parties.

Made this for my office party and everyone wanted the recipe. It really does taste like hot wings, was easy to put together and absolutely delicious. I cooked my chicken in the crock pot to make it extra moist and easy to shred.

This was a great hit at our family reunion. I have been asked over and over for the recipe. Will be making it again for it was very easy to make. I served it with Doritos cool ranch.

Use the same ingredients -- different assembly. Spread cream cheese on bottom of dish, mix hot sauce and chicken, spread them on top of cream cheese. Spread blue cheese dressing over chicken, sprinkle shredded cheese on top. Bake as instructed.

TRY THIS...EQUAL AMOUNTS OF MAYO & SOUR CREAM. A FEW GRATES OF CINNAMON & NUTMEG, & CRUMBLED BLUE CHEESE (OR ROQUEFORT), PLUS AS MUCH HOT SAUCE AS YOU WANT. STIR ALL TOGETHER. IT'S A DIP FOR WINGS, OR ANYTHING. NO HEATING, NO BAKING. CARROTS, CELERY, CRACKERS,...USE HOT OR COLD CHICKEN PIECES, NOT SHREDDED, FOR DIPPING,PLAIN-COOKED, HOT, COLD, BREADED, FRIED, BAKED, OR ANYTHING.

I'M FROM BUFFALO, NY. I KNOW BUFFALO WINGS FROM THE ORIGINATORS... THE 'ANCHOR BAR.' ANY DIP IS GOOD IF IT'S SIMPLE & HAS HOT SAUCE & BLUE CHEESE!
