No-Bake Peanut Butter Bars Recipe
  • Prep: 10 min. Cook: 20 min. + chilling
  • Yield: 24 Servings

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1-1/2 cups crisp rice cereal
  • 1/2 cup cornflakes
  • ICING:
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup evaporated milk
  • 3 tablespoons butter

Directions

  • In a heavy saucepan, heat brown sugar and corn syrup over medium heat until sugar is dissolved. Stir in peanut butter and vanilla; mix well. Fold in cereals. Spread into a greased 11-in. x 7-in. pan. Combine icing ingredients in another saucepan; cook and stir over medium heat for 8 minutes or until sugar is dissolved and icing has thickened slightly. Pour over bars; spread evenly. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before cutting. Yield: 2 dozen.
