Ingredients

  • 6-1/2 to 7 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1-1/2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup bran flakes
  • 1 cup quick-cooking oats
  • 2 packages (1/4 ounce each) active dry yeast
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2-1/2 cups water
  • 1-1/2 cups (12 ounces) 1% cottage cheese
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 eggs

Directions

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups all-purpose flour, whole wheat flour, bran flakes, oats, yeast and salt. I have made this bread several times now, and all three loaves are always gone within a few days. It is delicious toasted with a little butter, but our absolute favorite way to eat it is to use it in French toast with cinnamon and vanilla, butter it and sprinkle it with a tiny bit of powdered sugar. Mmmm...
