“I found this in my mom’s recipe box years ago,” notes Lianne Felton of Riverside, California. “It’s very quick to prepare and makes the house smell wonderful while it’s cooking. My daughter, Molly, just loves it!”

This is a go to recipe for me. My husband loves it. I serve it with buttered egg noodles and green salad. If there are leftovers I debone the chicken legs and toss with leftover egg noodles and mix in the thickened sauce. I use teriyaki sauce in lieu of soy sauce and also skin the chicken legs or thighs.

use thighs instead of drumsticks and remove the skin and it always comes out great

While the chicken is very moist and falls off the bone, I'm not crazy about the taste of the sauce. There's too much soy sauce. Perhaps cutting the soy sauce down would make all the difference.

My kids said this was a "do over". My only question is, what vegetables?

This was DELISH! Everyone loved it! I went with a 1/4 cup soy sauce instead of a 1/2 cup after reading some of the reviews and it was perfect! Will be making again for sure.

This was really good! I ended up making it in the oven because I needed to make a batch larger than the slow cooker would hold but it worked out great. The leftovers were just as good reheated if not better!

I have not made this yet but was wondering what was meant in the recipe when it says: "remove chicken to serving platter and then says remove meat & vegetables to serving platter? What meat & vegetables?

I used less Soy Sauce than what this recipe called for as well per the other viewer's comments. It turned out well and it was a good, easy recipe. The sauce is really good poured over veggies like cabbage and rosemary potatoes, which is what I served with this dish. I would make it again. My picky husband really liked it.

Love this as an economical, easy cook dish when I can get drumsticks for $1/lb. and cook in the slow cooker. Had 4 lbs. and did reduce the soy to 1/4 low sodium. It was very tasty and family loved it. Next time if cooking that much I think I will add a bit more soy and brown sugar.
