Tip

Substitute for Nuts

If your family loves the crunch of nuts in brownies and chocolate chip cookies, but someone is allergic to them, add granola or crisp rice cereal in the same amounts as the nuts called for in your recipes. But, always check the granola or cereal packages for nut allergy alerts to be certain.

I made these brownies when they recipe came out in 2005 for the Brownie contest! They were a real hit with the youth group I would bake for each month! Yes, I would make this recipe again!

Excellent taste but am I doing something wrong when spreading the meringue? I had a hard time spreading it. Any suggestions?

Like cookbookmom says: people are fascinated with hte meringue, and the combination of meringue, coconut and chocolate chips, is just spectacular. I would make it again 1000 more times!

I made this recipe for a co-worker's birthday, and the whole office flipped for them! The name doesn't quite capture this delicious little treasure. My co-workers re-named them little gooey magic bites. They are divine!

These are amazing--even without the nuts! Most people are fascinated by the meringue topping. Can't be beat!
