The kitchen is the domain of my wife, Ruth, but she doesn't mind if I want to step in once in a while and prepare these savory meatballs.—Bill Cowan, Hanover, Ontario

The diced bread is a change of pace from breadcrumbs ordinarily found in meatballs. The sauce came out a little thin, but that made it great served over plain rice. The cloves do make the recipe.

My husband and I found this recipe in 1997 in The taste of Home, we have making it ever since. This is our favorite meatball recipe just because of the clove in it. Yo won't be sorry on trying this recipe.
