My mother came across this recipe in a newspaper some 40 years ago. One taste and you'll see why it doesn't take long for a big batch to disappear. Linda First, Hinsdale, Illinois

After mixing the sugar, milk and marshmallowAnd adding to chocolate, I had to put it back on the stove so it would melt more and be creamier and smoother. What did I do wrong. Maybe the chocolate is added to the sugar mix rather than the other way around. Help?

I've been looking for this recipe in different website and THIS ONE is it! BTW - it's also called "Mamie's Million Dollar Fudge" because that's what President Eisenhower called it - now that's totally sweet!!!

I never have. I have a Mamie Eisenhower Fudge recipe that is different from this. No candy bars, no tablespoons plus 1/2 cup of butter. How can Mamie Eisenhower's name be on two completely different recipes.

This recipe has been around at least since the 1950's. It was originally called "Million Dollar Fudge" and called for 5 Hershey Milk Chocolate bars (the old 5 cent bars). Since the Eisenhower's owned a home in mid-Pennsylvania near Hershey, PA, I'm sure it's the same recipe. My mother's old recipe is exactly 1/2 the amount of these same ingredients and is made in an 8 X 8 inch pan. It's absolutely foolproof. It's perfect everytime and wonderfully delicious.

Interesting that I too have a recipe for "Mamies Famous Fudge" from about 45 or so years ago. It has different chocolates such as bars of German Sweet and the butter amount is different as well. I have seen the one I have before but not this version. I think this one must have been changed for personal taste. Good regardless, but I will make the one I have.
