Fabulous! My son-in-law was crazy about it -- and it's so easy!

This has always been one of my family's favorite desserts so when I saw this makeover, I was elated. I use Fat Free, Sugar Free Lemon pudding rather than the chocolate and it is truly yummy.

I made this for a family dinner and took the leftovers into work. Since then it's been requested for all of the functions. They always say I'm lying when I tell them it's a light version!!

Being a diabetic, I love this recipe. I used banana cream pudding (suar free) and also sugar free oreos. Yummy!!!

I cut and wrap leftover dessert in individual servings.

My family loved this, especially my brother, who's diabetic. The only changes I made to the recipe is that I used sugar-free cheesecake flavored pudding instead of the vanilla. I added 2 tsp. of vanilla extract to the cream cheese/pudding mixture. I didn't have any regular cream cheese on hand, so I used half a package of light cream cheese (4 oz) instead.

I loved this recipe! I think everyone should try it.

I have made this recipe numerous times. Each time I try a little something different. I only use one package of fat-free cream cheese, reduced the milk to 2 1/4 cups, and only 1/2 package of reduced-fat oreos. This is a favorite in our house!

That's 3 points for 1/2 c serving.

I agree--the butter is not needed. I substituted chocolate graham crackers for the oreo cookies. I also decreased the amount of confectioners' sugar. I used Weight Watcher cream cheese. That would be about 3 pts for Weight Watchers. I've got it made and am waiting to eat it for dessert tonight. Also, I think it would be good to put some peppermint flavoring or creme de menthe in it to make it like a grasshopper dirt dessert.

I haven't made this recipe yet, but I am going to make it with chocolate graham crackers. I think they would taste just as good as the oreo cookies and a lot less calories. Also, I would use the light margarine like Brown and Brummel. I don't care for Fat-free cream cheese, so I would just use the 1/3 less fat cream cheese. Otherwise I think I would leave everything else as is.

Makeover dirt dessert is actually one my diabetic son can eat, and absolutely loves. It's delicious and so easy to make, he eats it whenever we are having a special meal. It's a keeper and definitely going in my recipe box.

Great recipe! The consistency was between ice cream and pudding. It was light and creamy and the oreo crumbs were great with it

This dessert was delicious and easy to make. I fixed it for my daughter. Then she had to fix it for all of her friends.

Couldn't wait to make this dessert and when I did, my boys finished is so quickly I barely had any for myself. It was delicious!

Truly light. It has 18 carbs. A diabetic can't even consider something like this unless it's 20 carbs or less. Thank you!

I made this with chocolate pudding and was a little rich. Think it would be better with the vanila pudding. Will try it again as it was very good.

I brought this to a pot luck supper and everyone raved about it

I took this dessert for a New Years Eve Part and it was a big hit with all ages, nobody suspected the low fat and fat free products used.

Reviewed on Jan. 08, 2009 by mitch47

I did make it, but with a few adjustments. I got regular chocolate sandwich cookies, but I scraped out the center icing part because there is too much sugar. Then I crushed the cookies, and added 1/4 cup melted margarine so the crumbs would hold together for the base. The top crumbs stayed as they were. Then I used only 3 cups of milk so it would set up a little firmer. The rest was as the recipe said, and it was delicious. My diabetic mother didn't even realize it had been "altered", and no one else did either.

This was delicious!! I did use all fat free cream cheese, fat free/sugar free pudding and sugar free cool whip. Will defiently make again.

Cut the amount of cookie crumbs in 1/2. Did not get firm enough to slice even when chilled overnight. The flavor was great and it was a big hit with my dinner guests

This is best when setting in the freezer, whether the refrigerator freezer or deep freeze. Make it a day or two in advance and freeze it. Then the morning of the event, take it out and let it set for a couple of hours beforehand. Once it's time to serve, it may still be a bit frozen or it's just right to serve. Otherwise, when it's made the day of or made the day before and set in the fridge, it'll get mushy when setting out for awhile.

I don't have much luck with the sugar-free puddings or low-fat cream cheese in recipes. I didn't rate this recipe well 'cause of the problems I've had with them. I don't keep diabetic stuff &/or low-fat stuff on hand too much. I've got the original recipe to this recipe and make it instead. My mom is diabetic and eats just a little of this to satisify her tastebuds.

My chocoholic sister is watching her calories intake and for her birthday I prepared this recipe as a "surprise" dessert. She absolutely loved it, and now it became her favorite "chocolate-away-from-chocolate" dessert. Thanks for sharing!

I always use sugar-free chocolate puddings; it looks like mud but tastes like heaven!

I've been making this recipe with lowfat cream cheese & sugarfree pudding & lowfat cool whip for years. It still gets great results. I substitute sugarfree pudding for most of my recipes because my dad is a diabetic. I figure every calorie saved, makes a difference.

This dessert is also cute to put in a child's plastic sand bucket and use the plastic sand shovels to dip it out with.

Reviewed on Dec. 29, 2008 by bonniejackspiess

When I make this for our grandchildren I layer it in a clean plastic flower pot. I top it with artificial flowers, usually daisies, and tuck in a few gummy worms. Then I invite them to "eat dirt". It's a hit with the kids and their parents.

I have made this in a loaf pan. I line the pan with tin foil first. When ready to serve just pull the foil liner out and slice for a pretty dessert. If I have some cherry pie filling in the cupboard I will put a big blop over each slice.....looks like a dessert you took a lot of time to make....
