Very good! Substituted flower shaped cucumber slices for the crackers. Perfect compliment to my garden themed Tea Party.

I did not make these as ladybugs. I just wanted to serve as appetizers. The spread was delicious and then I just served the tomatoes and black olives and chives separately so that you could build your own. Very tasty. If I ever need the cuteness factor I will assemble as ladybugs.

As I read everyone's notes about this, I see that nobody has tried something other than crackers. I was thinking perhaps give a try with bagel chips since they are a bit harder and are toasted it may stop them from getting soggy like the crackers, and the trade off is not too bad from crackers to the chips for the calories exchanged, if that is a concern. After all, a bagel chip runs about 8 calories and a Ritz cracker runs 16 calories.

i couldn't stop smiling while making these! i sliced the olives in half just because. to make them again i'd use wheat grass which i usually have on hand anyway. it's thinner and sturdier. as for the comments about the cream cheese making the crackers soggy. i'd make the mixture the night before and keep refrigerated :-)

Cheese makes a better bed for the Lady Bug. There needs to be a way to copy a recipe and leave the ads off. Wast of ink!

Very quick and something the kids can help make. Get the kids in the kitchen early and they'll grow up cooking at home instead of eating out.

The recurring problem seems to be the cream cheese softening the cracker. Why not put a pepperoni slice on the cracker and build up from it?

This recipe was great fun to make! I served them for an "indoor picnic" for a recouperating friend. Everybody loved them! These did get soft fairly quickly so make them at the last minute. :)

Brought these to a baby shower and they were a hit! Easy to make! Tasted delicious. Make these right before you want to serve them or the crackers will get soggy.

These are adorable but one caution. The first time I made them the night before and refrigerated them for work the next day. They were so soggy. Has anyone had luck making them ahead of time or do you pretty much have to make and eat them right away? They are delicious and easy to make just not so good soggy.

I have made these many times now and they are always a hit at the party. They taste really very good. One time I didn't take the time to cut the tomato, omitted the olive and chives and still VERY good! Great appetizer!

I also used flavored cream chees for quick assembly. My 2-year-old grandson loves the "YADYBUGS!"

I made these ladybugs for a baby shower. Everyone said they tasted great; BUT the crackers got soggy.

I Loved these darling lady bug appetizers. They went like hotcakes. I used rosemary/olive oil Triscuit and Brie Cheese in the round. Sliced the Brie for the white on the cracker, then added the ladybug. They flew right off the plate!

We made these for a Widow's Tea we did one year, with a summery, warm, sunshine theme. All of the dear widows LOVED them, and were even hesitant to eat them because they were SO cute! :)

They look so cute. I'm not such a huge fan of the ingredients.

I would make these again in a heartbeat! I made them for my daughter's 1st birthday party which was a ladybug theme. They looked SO cute and everyone loved them. I made some other ladybug finger food snacks I found on a different site too and they all looked so cute together!! It takes a bit of time to assemble them but once you get the hang of it after doing a few, it gets easier. For the black dots, I shopped around for what I thought would be a good applicator-type thing. I found a squeezable tube of black icing by Dec Cake but I think in the end we used the tube some but also dipped toothpicks into the end and made dots because they were coming out too big. Anyway, I'd still make them again, they were very cute for the party theme and fun to eat!

I haven't made this yet, but I'm so thrilled and eager to serve them. They seem so easy and with flavored cream cheese and black decorating gel, this will be a snap. My party's theme is lady bugs so this is absolutely perfect. Thank you so much for posting it!!

These were a hoot to make and were adorable! Tasted good, too. When I mixed the creamed mixture together I thought "this isn't going to be very flavorful!" but it was very good, actually! The large olives that I bought (said 'large' on the label) were much too big-buy the smallest ones you can find. You'll also want cherry tomatoes on the smaller rather than larger size. I made my ladybugs in the morning for an evening party, so I needed to refrigerate them. Be sure to let the black dots dry for abut 15-20 minutes if you're going to cover with plastic wrap. I also used Neufchatel cheese (33% less fat cream cheese) and red.fat sour cream. I did not give the bugs antennas either. 5 stars!!

To make this an easier recipe, I just used flavored cream cheese (garlic/chive), it cuts out almost everything but assembly! I also used black icing b/c I couldn't find the black paste, too little to tell a difference.

These were a hit at our church social. I omitted the antennae, ladybugs do not have them. To make it easier I just used a black gel decorating tube for the spots.

I use Wilton paste dye. You can get it at most craft stores. It's pricey, but a little goes a LONG way.
