Ingredients

  • 4 plum tomatoes, coarsely chopped
  • 1 can (6 ounces) tomato paste
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup roasted sweet red peppers
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 2 teaspoons dried minced garlic
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 2 tubes (13.8 ounces each) refrigerated pizza crust

  • 1 cup (4 ounces) shredded Romano cheese, divided
  • 1 package (3-1/2 ounces) sliced pepperoni

Tip

Shred and Freeze Cheese

It’s usually cheaper to buy cheese in blocks than in shredded form. So I purchase large quantities of cheddar, Monterey Jack and mozzarella, then shred them myself in my food processor. I store the shredded cheese in the freezer in heavy-duty resealable plastic bags, so I have it at my fingertips whenever it’s needed. —Evelyn O., Parma, Ohio

Excellent sauce!!! I used fresh garden tomatoes and this pizza tasted like we ordered it from a restaurant!

Very yummy. My husband and I both enjoyed. We used the pizza dough balls from the store instead of the tube dough. The sauce was a little time consuming, but worth it for the wonderful flavor and it made extra for next time!
