This is a great recipe for using a basic cookie dough. I observe that youare directed to remove the design on the top cookie - then throw away the cutouts. This is a bad instruction! Just bake those tiny shapes as individual cookies. You can eat them plain or iced. Rather than using jams or jellies will give you colors for the season, or using the mentioned raisin filling will fit in appropriately at Thanksgiving - or any other season of the year.
