Meet the Cook: For years, I had trouble finding a pizza my family likes. So I started making my own. The evening I served it to company and they asked for my recipe. I thought, "I finally got it right!" When I prepare my sauce, I usually fix enough for three to four pizzas and freeze it. Feel free to spice up my sauce to suit your own family's tastes. My husband and I just built a new house in the country. We have a son, 9. Home-schooling him keeps me busy. -Cheryl Kravik, Spanaway, Washington

Didn't have any fennel so made it without and it was wonderful. Will be using again for sure!

Kids liked the recipe. Will make again for pizza. I froze the extra for another pizza day.

I have used many store-bought sauce brands and prepared several sauces from numerous on-line recipes. My family says sauce is THE ONE. I followed the recipe precisely. I placed the fennel seeds on a cutting board and used my rolling pin to crush the seeds. After putting the ingredients in a saucepan, I used a hand-held immersion blender on its lowest speed to mix everything. It further pulverized the seeds. I made two (2) twelve-inch pizzas and spread the sauce medium thick. There was enough sauce remaining for another pizza so I froze the remainder. Family absolutely loved the pizza. So much better than those purchased from the chain restaurants.

Very good! I only added about 1/8 t. of fennel as I had seeds and breaking them was not easy. I'm not a big fan of fennel anyway but realize it does add a nice background flavor. I also added extra onion and garlic powder and about 2T of sugar to take the sour off of the paste. I really like it and will look forward to using the extra I have in the freezer!

I've hardly ever made homemade pizza because I can't find a sauce we like. This one is a home run!

I am making this again tonight. This recipe made enough for four calzones + a pizza and there is still some leftover! I make it without the fennel, but with fresh garlic (as my husband and I are garlic-fiends), and I'll tell you - I had a really hard time finding a yummy pizza sauce but now that I've found this one, I won't use anything else!Definitely hooked, another great review. ANYONE LOOKING FOR A YUMMY PIZZA SAUCE - LOOK NO FURTHER!!!

Delicious! It's so easy and freezes so nicely. The first time I made it my kids asked me why my homemade pizza was so good this time, then they were licking the sauce pan. Didn't have fennel either time I've made this but added fresh garlic. YUM
