Meet the Cook: For years, I had trouble finding a pizza my family likes. So I started making my own. The evening I served it to company and they asked for my recipe. I thought, "I finally got it right!" When I prepare my sauce, I usually fix enough for three to four pizzas and freeze it. Feel free to spice up my sauce to suit your own family's tastes. My husband and I just built a new house in the country. We have a son, 9. Home-schooling him keeps me busy. -Cheryl Kravik, Spanaway, Washington

I am making this again tonight. This recipe made enough for four calzones + a pizza and there is still some leftover! I make it without the fennel, but with fresh garlic (as my husband and I are garlic-fiends), and I'll tell you - I had a really hard time finding a yummy pizza sauce but now that I've found this one, I won't use anything else!Definitely hooked, another great review. Delicious! It's so easy and freezes so nicely. The first time I made it my kids asked me why my homemade pizza was so good this time, then they were licking the sauce pan. Didn't have fennel either time I've made this but added fresh garlic. YUM

I've made this twice now, though I still haven't gotten to the store for fennel seed, and it is fabulous anyway. I can get 4 pizzas from one recipe, so I freeze it in small containers. If you haven't made your dough with beer, try it, it is great with this sauce! Thanks for sharing this wonderful creation.

WOW! This is the best pizza sauce I ever had. I left out the fennel and added some chopped garlic. I froze the leftover in individual containers as my husband wants to use it on his Philly steak sandwiches.

I liked this recipe pretty good. I did not like so much fennel seed so the last time I made it, I only added a little. I will probably omit it next time since the other poster said it was still good without it.

I have made this recipe multiple times, but I leave out the fennel seed. It always gets compliments.

Great recipe. I always double it and put in individual freezer containers (enough to make 2 pizzas) so they are on hand (can thaw in microwave for last minute). we usually have make-your-own pizzas every friday night. :)

This is a great recipe....I made sauce-stuffed crust pizza with this sauce, and it was great! My husband said that it smelled like a pizza place when he walked in the house and smelled the sauce. I will definitely make this again.
