My husband and I both work full time and we have three daughters, so good, quick meals are important. This stew works wonders, it always tastes great and is a regular menu item for us. —Marie Shanks, Terre Haute, Indiana

I dont know how I messed this up but it was HORRIBLE. No one ate it. I think canned stew would have tasted better than this. Sorry it was just not good

Susan Chickness is wrong - 1,250 mg, while a lot for one serving, is too low a daily intake of sodium. I'm an RN and even people who have heart trouble should take in about 2,000 mg a day. Salt has iodine and other ingredients our bodies need. To reduce the per serving sodium of this recipe, just use low-salt cream of mushroom and tomato soup instead of regular - that should pare it down considerably.

Than you, Susan Chickness, for calling attention to the high sodium content. Way too much.

Did your Mother ever teach you"If you do not have anything nice to say do not say anything at all" Susasan Chickness. So use love sodium. Sound wonderful plan on making!

the sodium content is unbelieveable-----1250 is all you need for a day let alone one meal

I've made this twice, and I really like it. I didn't use the slow cooker and used my own veggies, but I love the combination of mushroom, tomato, and onion soup in the sauce.

My family loves this stew! I never have the frozen veggies on hand, so I just use some raw carrots and potato. Even my picky 7 year old eats this well.

Loved it! Didn't have frozen veggies so I used fresh carrots and cut up 3 large potatoes. Cooked 7.5 hours on low. Fabulous!
