When autumn arrives, so do the brilliant fall colors of orange, gold, rust and more. But consider going
green this Thanksgiving by fashioning the arrangement featured here. Instead of pumpkins, grab hold of
white gourds in assorted sizes. Your grocer's produce section is the source for flowering kale and sprigs
of fresh rosemary and sage.
A bounty of white and muted green flowers rounds out the centerpiece. We used hydrangea, licorice vine,
millet, blue thistle, tallow berry, dusty miller and hypericum. For natural napkin rings, make the Cabbage
Leaf Napkin Rings as instructed below.
How to Make Cabbage Leaf Napkin Rings
Why buy napkin rings to go with the "gourd-eous" centerpiece above when you can make your own
natrual variety? Start by folding a square dinner napkin in half to make a rectangle. Roll up tightly,
starting from a short side; set aside.
Step 1
Slightly overlap the stem ends of two ornamental cabbage leaves; wrap craft wire around the ends to
secure.
Step 2
Wrap the leaves around the rolled napkin, overlapping the leaves on top. Use a wooden skewer to make
small holes in and out of the leaves. Remove the skewer; insert a small twig in and out of the
holes.
