Herb Chicken with Honey Butter Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 3/4 cup seasoned bread crumbs
  • 2 tablespoons dried parsley flakes
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 3/4 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon poultry seasoning
  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breast halves (6 ounces each)
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • HONEY BUTTER:
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup honey

Directions

  • Place egg in a shallow bowl. In another shallow bowl, combine bread crumbs and seasonings. Dip chicken in egg, then coat with bread crumb mixture.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, cook chicken in butter 4-5 minutes on each side or until a thermometer reads 165°. Meanwhile, combine butter and honey. Serve with chicken. Yield: 4 servings.

The combination of honey and the herbs turned out very well, but after trying it in the skillet I decided it would work better being baked because the chicken was still a bit too moist for my tastes. Would make again.

I heated up the sauce. I did not enjoy standing over the stove preparing this. Some of the bread crumbs fall off in the skillet. This is the only breaded chicken recipe that I have ever made that involved preparing the chicken in a skillet instead of baking it. If I make it again, I will definitely bake it.

Great! My family gets tired of chicken. This was just the recipe to spice up our dinner. We poured the sauce over the chicken. Great flavor combination.

what do you do with the honey butter mixture? pour it over the chicken? dip the chicken in it?

My husband, 7 & 11 year old girls, and another 12 year old girl LOVED this meal. SO EASY AND YUM YUM YUMMY! The honey butter is perfect with the herb seasonings!
