I just made and it turned out incredibly. I used a sweet onion instead of the red. We have a new family favorite. I served it with BBQ chicken, corn on the cob, cole slaw, and peach cobbler.

I don't know what Hawaiian Sweet bread is either. We don't have it here in Australia. Is there something else we could use?

This bread is awesome. Sometimes I use green onions ao vidalia onions instead of the red onions for a milder onion flavor.
