During harvesttime, I take this dish out to the field for my family's lunch. It sure makes things easy when you have your meat and vegetables all in one dish. And, as many times as I've carried a full casserole out to the field, I have never brought anything back to the house but the empty dish.

Shred and Freeze CheeseIt’s usually cheaper to buy cheese in blocks than in shredded form. So I purchase large quantities of cheddar, Monterey Jack and mozzarella, then shred them myself in my food processor. I store the shredded cheese in the freezer in heavy-duty resealable plastic bags, so I have it at my fingertips whenever it’s needed. —Evelyn O., Parma, Ohio

This recipe is really good. I didn't use Lima beans and diced the potatoes instead of slicing them. I will definitely be making this again soon.

my whole family loves this recipe. a few dislike the lima beans so sometimes i leave them out. this makes a nice size casserole and with only 3 in the house there are still no leftovers. the flavors work great together and apart from the long cook time, it comes together quite easy. i have shared this with my mother and she didn't have any leftovers either. definitely one to pass down to future generations. thanks for this amazing recipe :)

This is one of those recipes that our family ate but didn't care that much for. It just wasn't that great. It seemed to be lacking in taste.
