I could not get enough of this savory soup. It is going to be one of my staples from now on. A bowl of this and some french or other crusty bread and you have all you need for a good meal.

This recipe is quite good. I have been making Hamburger Soup since my 4 children were small. They are in there 40's now. From the garden I canned lots of vegs so soup was 2 lbs of meat, chopped onion and garlic, one quart each of green beans, carrotts and tomatoes. For liquid I've alway used water and red wine. A bag of shredded cabbage is a good addition along with plenty of salt and pepper and any fresh herbs I have on hand. very nourishing and not so heavy on the calories.

Made this soup (well, a version of it) tonight! It was delicious! I added carrots, celery, and fresh diced tomatoes because I had that all on hand. I'm not a green bean fan, so didn't use those. Also, I subsituted 2c. of the beef broth for vegetable broth and mixed that with a 6oz can of tomato paste instead of using tomato sauce.This was by far the best soup I've ever made! Can't wait to make it again!

This was soooo good. I do not like stewed tomatoes so I used regular petite diced. Next time will use half the oregano and basil but it was really good..my 5 yr old had 2 bowls.

Very tasty, hearty soup! Great on those cold, damp days. I used frozen mixed vegetables instead of just frozen cut green beans. Makes lots and the whole family loved it!

Wow! Not a soup lover but this was great. No little noddles so added 2 potatoes. Also added carrots, mushrooms, etc (whatever I had in my veggy drawer). Thanks for the recipe!

This is by far the BEST vegetable soup recipe I've ever come across. I've given this recipe out to so many people too! It's a great crowd pleaser and makes a TON of soup for not a lot of money!! There have been times that I've made this and had to omit the small can of sauce or I only had diced tomatoes not stewed tomatoes. I've also used red pepper instead of green. No matter how I switch it up it always turns out great!! I highly recommend this!
