Ham 'n' Egg Sandwich Recipe

Ham 'n' Egg Sandwich Recipe Ham 'n' Egg Sandwich Recipe photo by Taste of Home Rating 5

Whenever the whole family gets together for a holiday or long weekend, they request this all-in-one breakfast sandwich. I can feed everyone by stacking ham, tomato, scrambled eggs, onion and cheese inside a loaf of French bread. Then I simply pop it in the oven to warm up. —DeeDee Newton, Toronto, Ontario

This is a good recipe for lotsa hungry kids too, leave out onion add xtra cheese, even sneak in a leaf or 2 of spinach for those who don't mind. As for ohio46 nasty people aren't welcome here, go be miserable somewhere else.

I have been on Taste of Home for years now and I enjoy seeing what you all think about these cooking ideas and how you might change them up too! Eveyone that knows me knows that I am a chef of 35 years and love to feed people. I do so with a humble heart and only share knowledge when asked. It is a gift from God and I am blessed to cook and share with as many as I am able. I'm not offended when you give your imput, it's a personal opinion and I can benifit or not if I choose to. I admit as long as I'm here on this earth I never stop learning the possibilties of food, and I will always take notice when someone says "this" might not work. Yes there are some who want to voice they don't see the importance or real origins of where these ideas come from but do two wrongs make a right? Is a mean spirited responce really required. Why are there personal attacks on those rating and reviewing a recipe? How are manners any better, or are they worse...hummm? This site never used to be like this, what is happening here? We all share a common interest and love of cooking and serving others. This is an expression of our selves, is our attack mentality also become part of our expression of this craft? Not for me. God's rich and loving blessings on you all.

Oh....I forget to point out this is a contest winning recipe. Hmmmm....there has to be something unique & special about it for such a simple sandwich to earn "Contest Winning".

Thank you so much for submitting this recipe. My very first thought when reading it was what a quick way to feed a group of people. It is very apparent the recipe is for a crowd. I cook for church & work events so instead of making 10 or 15 individual sandwiches I can make 1 or 2 of these and be done with it. Perhaps reviewers like Ohio46 only has themselves or very few to cook for otherwise they would have realized this twist on a breakfast sandwich is priceless when cooking for a crowd. Also Ohio46 I have a tip for you... when you make your peanut butter & jelly sandwich try lightly buttering the outside of bread and grill for a twist on a peanut butter & jelly sandwich....yummy!!!!

Hey Ohio 46, Do you know what manners are? They're a basic concept too. Apparentley some people do no know that simple, everyday idea. Wish I could print a recipe for IT, even though it's obviously too simple for you. Great recipe! So easy to make and just like PB&J, the ingredients are perfect for each other!!! Everybody loved it and requested recipe!!!

Sometimes we need the obvious and basic recipes. What's wrong with keeping it simple? Besides, this recipe calls for ingredients usually already handy when we need a tasty and easy idea for a quick meal. I love my memory being refreshed by these yummy recipes!

Hey- did you all know you can make a peanut butter sandwich by spreading peanut butter on a slice of bread? You can vary it by adding a layer of jelly.

Well, it's a ham, egg & cheese sandwich ~ I don't know what the hype is about but my husband loves this sandwich! It's very simple to make and I almost always have the ingredients on hand :)

Loved this sandwich. I used herb butter and microwaved it for 1 min (to melt cheese) when I made it for a fast breakfast. I've also used a hogie bun when I just needed one serving.
