everyone thought it was great, when chopping gumdrops, I droped them in a dish of sugar to coat the cut edges, they didn't stick together and were much easier to distribute evenly in the fudge.

However, as a friend suggested because the gumdrops are such a hassle, next time I'll substitute craisins and pistachios for the drops.

This looked so nice on a cookie plate. wasn't sure how it would taste, but was really pleased when i tried it. I cut into smaller slices instead of squares. Really liked it!!

This was my first real attempt at fudge and it turned out perfectly! It tastes a little bit like the Brach's vanilla nougat candies. The most time consuming part was actually chopping the gumdrops, but next time I try a PP's idea of freezing them briefly beforehand. I used a 9" square pan and got exactly the 81 pieces stated. It cut beautifully and I'm so excited to see what others think of it.

This fudge tasted good, but I used white chocolate instead of white candy coating and had a lot of issues. First, the white chocolate didn't melt very well and then when I added the vanilla extract the water in the extract made the white chocolate seize and I ended up with a ball of solids sitting in a pool of grease. I actually squeezed grease out of it and patted it into a pan and let it set up just to see what would happen. The result tasted good, but the texture was dense and not at all creamy. I'm sure it would have worked well with the candy coating, but I don't think I'll try it again.

I made these exactly as stated. I used the Wilton White Chocolate Candy Coating found at AC Moore's. And for the Gumdrops I used regular, most review's who said they used spiced gumdrops, you better read the recipe again..nowhere in the recipe does it say to use spiced gumdrops. The vanilla mentioned to use is Spice Islands Pure Vanilla....lol lol lol lol
