Ground Beef Gyros Recipe

Ground Beef Gyros Recipe Ground Beef Gyros Recipe photo by Taste of Home Rating 5

If your family likes gyros as much as mine, they'll love this easy version that's made with ground beef instead of lamb. I found the recipe in a newspaper and adapted it to fit our tastes. They're very much like the ones served at a local restaurant. A cucumber yogurt sauce adds an authentic finishing touch. —Ruth Stahl, Shepherd, Montana

So quick and easy and so like the real thing. I love gyros and will definitely make this again soon. P.S. Relatively inexpensive too! A real bonus!

Got so tired of paying top dollar at restaurants for gyro. Finally took the dive and made this. I used iceberg lettuce as a wrap instead of the pita and premade tzaziki from Costco. It's heaven and nearly carb-free. Thanks so much. Shared with all my friends on FB.  If you lay it all out as a buffet -style meal, it makes a gorgeous platter as build-your-own gyro.

This was SO good!! My family loved it, even though they were a little nervous about trying it. Everyone had seconds. It was great.

Very easy and quick to make. Everyone in the family liked them. I used sour cream rather than yogurt in the sauce.

Super easy recipe, very good taste. We buy pita shells from a local restaurant instead of trying to find ones that wont fall apart in a regular grocery store. I make the cucumber sauce with sour cream instead of yogurt, just as a personal preference.
