Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup reduced-sodium teriyaki sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sherry or pineapple juice
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 8 mahi mahi fillets (6 ounces each)
  • TROPICAL FRUIT SALSA:
  • 1 medium mango, peeled and diced
  • 1 cup chopped seeded peeled papaya
  • 3/4 cup chopped green pepper
  • 1/2 cup cubed fresh pineapple
  • 1/2 medium red onion, chopped
  • 1/4 cup minced fresh cilantro
  • 1/4 cup minced fresh mint
  • 1 tablespoon chopped seeded jalapeno pepper
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

Directions

  1. In a shallow dish, combine the teriyaki sauce, sherry and garlic; add mahi mahi. Turn to coat; cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, in a large bowl, combine the salsa ingredients. Cover and refrigerate until serving.
  3. Drain fillets, discarding marinade. Place mahi mahi on an oiled grill rack. Grill, covered, over medium heat or broil 4 in. from the heat for 4-5 minutes on each side until fish flakes easily with a fork. Serve with salsa.
Grilled Mahi Mahi Tips

Where can you buy mahi mahi fillets?

Mahi mahi is readily available at most local grocery stores. Chat with your local butcher or fishmonger to see what the freshest options are, and keep in mind our tips on how to tell fish is fresh when selecting your fillets. In a pinch, frozen is a great option as well! We have lots more info on buying and cooking the best-tasting fish.

What do you serve with grilled mahi mahi?

Mango pairs nicely with mahi mahi, so our delicious, gingered mango salsa is the perfect topping. It’s bright and fresh and provides a little punch of acidity that complements the fish well.

How long will leftover grilled mahi mahi last?

Leftover cooked fish can be refrigerated for up to 3 days. Keep it in an airtight container to maintain peak freshness.
