Green Beans with Almonds Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 package (16 ounces) frozen French-style green beans
  • 1/2 cup slivered almonds
  • 1/4 cup butter, cubed
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Directions

  • Place beans in a large saucepan and cover with water. Bring to a boil. Cook, uncovered, for 8-10 minutes or until crisp-tender; drain.
  • Meanwhile, in a small skillet over low heat, toast almonds in butter. Remove from the heat; stir in lemon juice and salt. Drain beans. Add almond mixture and toss to coat. Yield: 6-8 servings.

Nutritional Facts 1 serving (3/4 cup) equals 107 calories, 9 g fat (4 g saturated fat), 15 mg cholesterol, 134 mg sodium, 5 g carbohydrate, 2 g fiber, 2 g protein.

The lemon juice and almonds give it a fancy taste and feel...my husbands loves beans this way

Excellent! I don't boil veggies anymore however. Steam or micro them instead.
