I thought this recipe was just great. I like granola bars, but I am not the greatest fan of the bought one. I am going to be sharing this recipe with my daughter, for my grandchildren, and with my soon to be daughter-in-law.

These bars are really good and filling. My sister tired one when she was at the house and asked for the recipe. They are a really good grab and go snack.

My son love these. I could not find driedapples so I used raisins. I used choppedwalnuts instead of almonds. I have made these twice and found if you do not let them cool completely they will crumble when cutting them. Also after I cut themI put them in the freezer. When I take agranola bar out of the frezer I warm it in themicrowave for 15 seconds and it tastes sogood.

These granola bars are delicious! I added more fruit to make them even better.

These bars were quite crumbly, but I am eating them anyway because they are so healthy! Right now I am enjoying them crumbled over vanilla-flavored Greek yogurt. I made them sugar-free so that might be part of the reason for their crumbly consistency. Next time I will use the brown sugar and use less coconut. My coconut was extremely fine, and 1/2 cup was a bit much. Love the sunflower seeds!

Solution to crumbly bars - quick cooking oats, like the recipe says! And remember people, these are granola bars and are not going to stick together in a solid mass like a doughy cake bar, or a bought granola bar. These are fabulous, lots of flavour and you can omit or add just about any filling ingredient you want!

I had the same problem as others. They tasted great but didn't stay together at all. I will try the quick oats next time. On the bright side - it tastes great over yogurt!

What did I do wrong?? I couldn't get them to stay together! They taste great as granola but I couldn't take them along as a bar! Is an ingredient missing from the recipe as printed?? I firmly pressed them in the pan and baked them at 350 for 18 mins.

So that makes them 17 cents each, around the cost of manufactured granola bars and much healthier and tastier! (sorry for the double posting and misspelling - I don't know how to edit comments...)
Very tasty. Because they're chewy, my kids with braces are able to have them, too.Regarding expense, by buying everything bulk (exceptin, I calculate a recipe of these is about 6 ddollars.
