Graduation Sheet Cake

Ingredients
1/4 cup baking cocoa
1 cup water
1 cup butter, cubed
2 cups sugar
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup buttermilk
2 eggs, beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
FROSTING/DECORATING:
1/2 cup butter, cubed
1/4 cup baking cocoa
1/3 cup milk
3-1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Vanilla icing and pastry bag
or
large tube of vanilla icing
Directions
In a large saucepan, combine cocoa and water until smooth. Add the
butter; bring to a boil. Remove from the heat; cool.
In a large bowl, combine the sugar, flour, baking soda and salt. Add
cocoa mixture and mix well. Beat in the buttermilk, eggs, and
vanilla. Pour into a greased 15-in. x 10-in. x 1-in. baking pan.

Bake at 350° for 20-22 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near
the center comes out clean.
For frosting, in a large saucepan, combine cocoa and milk until
smooth; add the butter. Cook over low heat until butter is melted.
Remove from the heat; stir in confectioners' sugar and vanilla.
Spread over warm cake. Cool. Use vanilla icing to decorate like a
diploma. Yield: 20-24 servings.
