Ingredients
- 1/4 cup baking cocoa
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup butter, cubed
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- FROSTING/DECORATING:
- 1/2 cup butter, cubed
- 1/4 cup baking cocoa
- 1/3 cup milk
- 3-1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Vanilla icing and pastry bag or large tube of vanilla icing
Directions
- In a large saucepan, combine cocoa and water until smooth. Add the
- butter; bring to a boil. Remove from the heat; cool.
- In a large bowl, combine the sugar, flour, baking soda and salt. Add
- cocoa mixture and mix well. Beat in the buttermilk, eggs, and
- vanilla. Pour into a greased 15-in. x 10-in. x 1-in. baking pan.
