This moist, old-fashioned cake is hard to beat, especially warmed up and finished off with a dollop of whipped topping. Eckert Orchards, Belleville, Illinois

This recipe is a keeper! Moist and delicious. I used half all purpose flour and half King Arthur white whole wheat flour; it came out so light that next time I'm going to try all white whole wheat flour.

I LOVE this! My husband does too, it won't last long at our place. I added just a splash of nutmeg and ginger and a cup of old fashioned rolled oats into the batter. So delicious! (I also used Fuji apples and it turned out wonderfully.)

This cake is delicious. Since I have a pear tree, I substituted chopped pears for the apples and served it to company. We all thought it was a great cake.
