Golden Apple Crisp Recipe

Ingredients

  • 11 cups thinly sliced peeled Golden Delicious apples (about 12 medium)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ALMOND OAT TOPPING:
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2/3 cup cold butter
  • 1/2 cup sliced almonds

Directions

  • In a large bowl, combine the first nine ingredients. Pour into a greased 13-in. x 9-in. baking dish.
  • In a small bowl, combine the flour, oats and sugars. Cut in butter until crumbly; stir in almonds. Sprinkle over fruit mixture.
  • Bake, uncovered, at 375° for 40-50 minutes or until topping is golden brown and filling is bubbly. Yield: 12 servings.
