I won't rate this recipe because I didn't exactly follow it. I wanted to see what happened when I used low fat Bisquick instead of gluten-free biscuit mix. It was a disaster. They were so delicate that they fell apart when carefully trying to get them out of the pan. The flavor was good however, and we ate the cake scraps without the glaze anyway. I'm going to take these flavors and the glaze and merge them into another doughnut recipe.

A really nice cake donut, easy to make, great flavor, especially for being gluten-free! I plan on making 2 changes the next time I make these: 1) Add chunky applesauce to the mix while reducing the amount of sugar & 2) Use 1/4c apple cider for the glaze instead of 3T. If you want to dip the top of the donut, there isn't enough glaze for 10 donuts. However, I placed the glaze in a squeeze bottle and pipped it on each donut to make it last. Rave reviews from friends, looking forward to making it again this fall!
