Ingredients

  • 1-1/2 to 2 cups ice cubes
  • 2 ounces gin
  • 1 ounce lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon confectioners' sugar
  • GARNISH:
  • Lime slices

Directions

  • Fill a shaker three-fourths full with ice. Place remaining ice in a rocks glass; set aside.
  • Add the gin, lime juice and confectioners' sugar to shaker; cover and shake for 10-15 seconds or until condensation forms on outside of shaker. Strain into prepared glass. Garnish as desired. Yield: 1 serving.

    Vodka Gimlet: Substitute vodka for the gin.
  • Editor's Note:You may also strain the Gimlet into a chilled cocktail glass and serve without additional ice.
