German Style Pork Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
  • 10 ounces boneless pork loin, diced
  • 2 cups sliced white onion
  • 1 small Granny Smith apple, peeled and cut into thin slices
  • 1/2 cup low sodium chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup apple cider
  • 2 tablespoons cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoons ground sage leaves
  • 1/4 teaspoons ground thyme
  • 1/4 teaspoons black pepper

Directions

  • In medium skillet, heat oil over medium high. Add pork and onions. Cook over medium high for 5 minutes, stirring frequently.
  • Add apple slices.
  • In small bowl, whisk broth, cider, vinegar, cornstarch, sage, thyme, and pepper. Stir into pork.
  • Bring liquid to a boil and reduce heat to low.
  • Cover and simmer for 10 minutes, until pork is cooked and sauce has thickened.
