This recipe can be made double or triple, to get enough to put some away in the freezer for a backup in the event you get unexpected drop-in company. The raisins are often suggested to be replaced with chopped pecans. To keep the inside of the cookies moist and chewy, work out the basics you want to include. These are so tasty, you can bake up a few batches for the BSA Troop to carry with themselves on a campout. The boys must remember to store them tied up high in a 'bear bag' to prevent a furry critter from getting into their Troop food supplies. Just tie the bags up high, & out on a limb to prevent any bears from getting into the bags.

I make these cookies quite often because they are so easy. I also like to make a double or triple batch and put some in the freezer so I always have some on hand!

I agree that the raisins don't fit so I added chopped pecans instead. My family and I love these cookies and believe me I live with cookie monsters. Very easy to make.

To me, the raisins just don't really fit with the rest of the cookies. If you leave out the raisins though, you have a nice moist chocolatey cookie that I would give 4 stars too.
