According to the ASPCA, an occasional small amount of garlic, such as that in most commercial pet foods and treats, may not cause a problem, but because of the risk of toxicity, they generally recommend that you avoid feeding your pets products that contain more concentrated amounts of garlic.

To follow this recommendation, we will reduce the range of garlic cloves to 1-2 cloves (instead of 1-4). The change will be updated here soon.

I agree that garlic is bad for dogs. Our vet gave us a list of poisonous foods. It says that garlic can cause anemia and even kidney failure. It says it wont cause harm in very small doses, but why risk it?

i've never heard garlic was bad for dogs either, it's supposed to keep parasites away too, it's a GOOD thing. I haven't tried this recipe yet, but plan to soon.

I substituted rice flour since my dog is allergic to wheat. I cut down on the garlic to save myself from the fumes! Have had dogs for 40 years and never heard garlic was harmful - onions, yes!

Be very careful! Garlic can be harmful to dogs. 4 cloves is too much.
