Garlic Butter Topping Recipe

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
  • GARLIC BREAD:
  • 4 hoagie buns, split
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • VEGETABLES:
  • 3 cups fresh broccoli florets
  • 3 cups fresh cauliflowerets
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons water
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Directions

  • In a small microwave-safe bowl, combine the butter, garlic powder and thyme. Cover and microwave on high until butter is melted. Yield: 3 tablespoons.
  • For garlic bread: Brush butter topping over cut sides of buns. Place cut side down on grill. Grill, uncovered, over medium heat for 1 minute or until toasted. Sprinkle with cheese. Yield: 4 servings.
  • For vegetables: Place broccoli, cauliflower and water in a 2-qt. microwave-safe dish. Cover and microwave on high for 5-7 minutes or until crisp-tender; drain. Drizzle with butter topping; toss to coat. Sprinkle with cheese. Cook, uncovered, on high for 30 seconds or until heated through. Yield: 4 servings.
