This wonderful accompaniment could not be tastier or simpler to make. Minced fresh garlic is key to these flavor-packed crusty slices, which our big family would snap up before they even had a chance to cool. -Grace Yaskovic, Branchville, New Jersey

When I needed a recipe for garlic bread for a spaghetti dinner fundraiser, I decided to go with this one. Not only was it the first thing to go, but several people commented that it was the best garlic bread they had ever had. To make it easier, I didn't bother to melt the butter. I just combined room temperature butter with the garlic, then spread it over the french bread halves. Then I sprinkled dried parsley and a little garlic salt over the top. It was so good, I was eating the crumbs out of the bottom of the serving bowl!
